Shoap
Hello!
I am very happy to be part of the fantastic teachers and administrators at WAMS! This will be my 14th year as a counselor in WASD, and my 3rd year at WAMS. My first 12 years were at the high school. Middle school is an exciting time for students to identify their strengths and talents, all while navigating through adolescence. Sometimes that road can be a bit bumpy, so I'm here to help our students to get through those times as they prepare for bigger and better things ahead. The entire staff here is incredibly dedicated to giving each student every opportunity to succeed.

I'll be working with our 7th graders this year and next to help them find the tools to be successful here, and to be well-prepared to enter the high school in 2 years (that time will be here in the blink of an eye). Parent and family involvement is absolutely critical to student success, and I hope to work together as a team to help our students not just survive here, but to thrive. Middle School can serve as a springboard for so many exciting opportunities for kids - and I'd love to join parents in the effort to support and encourage our students to discover these many possibilities.
I like to occasionally share articles that might be helpful for parents of middle schoolers. These can be some of the most challenging years for kids and parents alike, so the more information about how to get through this time, the better! :)

Dates to Note:

October 16 - WAMS Parent Forum 6:30
October 17 - 2 hour delay for students
October 20 - Fall Dance (after school)
October 24 - 1st marking period ends
